The pad or light coverage diaper or brief is just not doing the job of containment of your incontinence issue. It could be time to upgrade to a medium or moderate protection product. Perhaps the product you are currently using is available in the moderate protection; then you are in luck and can do a switch by simply upgrading to it. However, sometimes that does not work, as the incontinence product for moderate protection may not be identical and you may need to use another product. Idiaper will supply you with everything from pads or liners, to diapers or briefs, disposables or reusables in the moderate protection group.
Perhaps the light incontinence pad you are using is not lasting as long as it used to. It may be time to try the moderate rated pads. These pads are designed to fit inside your regular underwear, with a snug fit to your body giving you a good degree of discretion. These pads are available in a wide variety of lengths and widths, along with different forms. The traditional rectangular pad is available, along with the hour-glass shape and contour shape pads. The shaped pads have leg gathers to help prevent any leakage from happening. They are slim, and will hug to your body giving you a better fit and protection.
You are not comfortable any longer using just a pad. There have been too many accidents or your skin is becoming irritated in your diaper or brief. The belted undergarment would be the incontinence product to try. It is not fully enclosed like the diaper or brief, thus allowing more air flow to your skin. Bacteria and moisture together mean the possibility of skin sores, rash or irritation. An unhealthy skin can be very painful. The belted undergarment allows for a lot of adjustment to fit your body form. The waist bands are no longer the thin elastic that cuts into your skin at the waist. They are a wide band with either a secure button closure or a Velcro type fastener. They have come a long way from the traditional type belted product.
There are many brand names available in the moderate incontinence group. If you have been using a specific brand and it is working for you, you may find the same brand in the moderate grouping. There are a wide variety of products available in either diaper or brief with tab style. Each has their own specific sizing, so when choosing a product make sure to use their sizing chart. Every manufacturer has its own specifics for the sizes, even within their own products. Reusables are available in the moderate incontinence group. These products are so much like your regular underwear you won’t realize you have an incontinence product on. The reusables are washable and can be reused over again. No more throwing your disposables in the garbage that is bound for the landfills. These are an eco-friendly product.
