Bladder Neck
noun
Where the bladder connects to the urethra.
One procedure to correct stress incontinence involves the bladder neck. Sutures or a “sling” of the patient’s own tissues are used to support the urethra and bladder neck in an attempt to ease incontinence.
Blood
noun
The well known red fluid that the circulatory system pumps through the body.
Blood travels in a circular path throughout the entire body via arteries and veins, pumped by the heart. It goes away from the lungs to transfer needed oxygen to the cells of the body, accumulating waste products as it travels. At the kidneys it passes most wastes into that organ so that it can be expelled through the urine. When it reaches the lungs it passes carbon dioxide to be expelled during exhalation.
Blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells, proteins, platelets, and much more. Though blood appears red, its primary component, plasma, is a clear yellow fluid. The red color of blood gave rise to the name red blood cells, which are the cells containing hemoglobin that carry oxygen. Other components contribute to immunity, clotting, and many more physiological requirements.
