Barium enema

noun

An enema which introduces a special type of liquid to the colon, rectum and large intestine, making them visible to an X-ray.

The barium, a chalky white powder, is mixed with water and appears white on either X-ray or fluoroscopy images. Fluoroscopy, much like a moving X-ray, is used to show the movement of the bowels.

Uses for this procedure include the diagnosis of abnormalities in the lower digestive system, such as Crohn’s disease, infection, cancer, obstructions, ulcerative colitis, polyps and others.

Bedwetting

noun

The act of incontinence while being in bed, it is also called enuresis.

Bedwetting can refer to a child or an adult, and arises from many different situations, though commonly used when referring to children. Bedwetting among older children can arise from several different sources, one of which follows. If the message of the need to urinate does not reach the brain, urination can occur without the child’s knowing. Varying treatments exist to combat this problem.
