Atonic bladder
disease/disorder
A condition where the bladder stays completely full, causing incontinence when excess urine needs to enter the bladder, resulting in leakage. Certain types of atonic bladder can be treated with a specific kind of stimulation therapy. Atonic bladder can be caused by damaged to the bladder wall muscles that causes overflow leakage.
An atonic bladder is different from an overactive bladder. A-tonic means without tone, and is frequently neurologically based.
