A certain class of medications which reduce spasming of the smooth muscles by inhibiting parasympathetic nerve impulse transmission. It acts by blocking acetylcholine at its receptor site. The bladder, as a smooth muscle, may be affected by these medications.

Antidepressant

A substance that causes a decrease in the symptoms of a psychological depression, also sometimes used for certain other mood disorders or dementia. These come in a variety of types, including MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants. Some example antidepressants are Prozac and Zoloft.

A medication used to treat seizures or muscle spasms. Some treat striated muscle (such as your arm muscle), and others target smooth muscles such as the bladder. See spasmolytic. Some antispasmodics are used to treat the gastrointestinal system.
