How Do I Choose From All of these Choices?

There are a few different categories that narrow down what product to use.

1) Is this for overnight or day use?

2) Is discreteness important (not seeing the adult diaper through clothing)

3) How incontinent are you (light, moderate, heavy - full bladder loss,)

4) Do you want a brief or pull-up?

These questions narrow down what to buy. If it’s for overnight incontinence, you can narrow your selection by clicking on the menu where it says “Overnight Protection”.

If discreteness is very important and you have full bladder loss, choose a First Quality (Prevail) product.

If you have light incontinence, a pad might work. If you have moderate incontinence, click on the “Moderate Protection” menu item. If you need heavy protection, stick to the “Heavy” and “Overnight” products.

If you want a brief, choose a product with the tabs on the side. If you want pullups, there are less choices but there are some good ones like the Tranquility Premium Disposable Underwear for Overnight Incontinence or the Prevail Protective Underwear. An example of a good brief is the Dignity Complete Disposable Briefs.

Always feel free to call us. We also have an Ask-A-Nurse button at the top of the site for any really tough or medical questions. Nancy is an RN.
